Driving Directions

From Washington, DC

Travel South on I-395 and as it merges with I-95, continue South to the I-295 beltway around Richmond.

Take I-295 east towards Norfolk to the I-64 interchange. Take I-64 East towards Norfolk/Williamsburg/Virginia Beach. Remain on I-64 until you reach Hampton, VA.

Take Exit 268 (East Mallory St/Ft. Monroe). NOTE: Last exit prior to entering the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.

Left at the traffic light onto S Mallory St (0.1 mile) Right at the 2d traffic light onto E Mellen St. Continue approximately 0.6 miles until you cross over a small bridge prior to entering Ft. Monroe. Enter Ft. Monroe on McNair Drive (It's the road on your right at the "Y" intersection. Keep the Military Police Guard House to your left). If you don’t have a DoD decal, bear to the right of the gate and enter via McNair Drive. After providing all requested identification, you will be issued a "Day Pass" allowing visitation throughout Ft Monroe for the day. Continue down McNair Drive past the marina and through a sharp curve to your left onto Fenwick Dr. Look for a sign to your right marked “QFR Parking Only” at the intersection of Ingalls and Fenwick Roads. NOTE: Maximum speed limit on Ft Monroe is 25 mph.

From Virginia Beach/Norfolk

Travel I-64 West towards Richmond, VA. Remain on I-64 until you reach Hampton, VA.

Take Exit 268 (East Mallory St/Ft. Monroe). NOTE: First exit after passing through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.

Left at the traffic light onto S Mallory St (.1 mile).

Right at the next traffic light onto E Mellen St. Continue approximately .6 miles until you cross over a small bridge prior to entering Ft. Monroe.

Enter Ft. Monroe on McNair Drive (It's the road on your right at the "Y" intersection. Keep the Military Police Guard House to your left). You will be requested to provide current identification for anyone 18 and older, and your card registration. You will be issued a "Day Pass" allowing visitation throughout Ft Monroe for the day. Continue down McNair Drive past the marina and through a sharp curve to your left onto Fenwick Dr. You will approach The Chamberlin on your right, guest parking is located on the front of the building. Please follow the instructions at our main entrance on the intercom and the Concierge will open the doors of the building for you. The concierge is located on the second floor which is accessed by the elevators just past the lobby on the right. NOTE: Maximum speed limit on Ft Monroe is 25 mph, no hand held cell phone operation is allowed while driving on Ft. Monroe.
